[Trigger Warning: Suicide, Depression] Driving home yesterday my friend and I saw somebody on the side of the road who looked like they were in distress. We pulled up and asked if he was okay. He said, very frankly, "I'm feeling suicidal. I'm waiting for a lorry to come past so I can jump in front of it." Without going into detail about his life he was a gent in his late 40s and he'd really been through the wringer in the last few years. We were able to sit with him and chat for a while. We talked about The Doors and buses, mainly. We called the Crisis team and found contacts for people that knew him who came to pick him up and take him home. The world's tough at the moment and you never know what's going on with other people. I'd like to think that, had we not driven that way home, somebody else would've done what we did. I hope you don't encounter anything like this today, but if you do - of even if you need help yourself - I wanted to share a link to some numbers in this thread. This year I'm very honoured to be doing The Great North Run for @theCALMzone who help people in their very darkest moments.
