So important. One of the biggest myths is that young breastfed babies under 5 weeks don’t poo as a norm. It always needs investigation - even if your baby/ your friend’s baby/ your milliner’s baby was fine.
Frequent stooling in babies under 4-6 weeks is an indicator that breastfeeding is going well. Infrequent stooling should prompt an urgent skilled bf assessment, not treatment for 'constipation'. breastfeeding-and-medication… @BfWendy @AssocBfMothers @UNICEF @GP_IFN @NBHelpline @BfN_UK

We need a national public health message & specific guidance on the re-starting of breastfeeding support groups. These are often run by volunteers, in community settings & are KEY in supporting families. We support feeding, reduce burden on the NHS & reduce mental health risk.(1)
