The Culinary I students completed their Simsations Brunch series last Thursday. Bi-weekly, groups of students showcased independently cultivated menus and worked together as a team to provide a wonderful culinary experience for BCSS staff and community members. Job well done!
Sims Academy STEP Program students spent the day competing at this year's Special Olympics, hosted at Winder Barrow High School. Congratulations to Robert for winning the gold medal in the 50 meter dash and to Andy for winning a silver medal in the javelin throw event!
The Culinary I students had a day to freestyle with their culinary creations. The student curated menu included teriyaki chicken and noodles, sweet and spicy pork, crab wontons, biscuits, and buffalo chicken dip.
Students from the Newcomer Academy spent some quality time in the BASA Research and Design Center to work on a fun "Book Spine Poetry" activity. First, students used book titles to create poetry. They then described the mood of the poems they created.

"Red velvet . . . but make it blue" - A masterpiece created by Ryan and Guadalupe, culinary dual enrollment students under the direction of Chef Joseph. These students created the perfect blue coloring for this cake using their available resources. Job well done! #simsations
