The rhetoric of Gavin Newsom and London Breed is dangerous and promoting the stripping away of the civil rights of Americans without a home. There are real solutions to homelessness, like Housing and Intensive Support.
Does anyone even comprehend the seriousness of Gavin Newsom and London Breed pushing for more criminalization as a "compassionate" response to the growing homeless crisis? youtu.be/sPmjy_9e-Io?si=2AOg… This is just the start. More politicians will follow their lead. As homelessness grows, and IT WILL GROW, the public will become more frustrated, increasing the support for a punitive response.

So many open questions. How will available shelter beds be tracked? Could an open bed mean any bed even if it has eligibility restrictions? Or if it is far away? Will the city provide a map showing what public lands are OK for people to sleep on? #housingnothandcuffs

This is doable - key steps will be to find the landlords to take the vouchers (FMRs are low compared to the current market), get vets document ready, and make sure the supportive services are in place.
