Congrats to Lara H, drafted to the AFLW Sydney Swans with pick 33! Our 2023 Sports Captain, Lara won an SCSA AFL premiership in 2022 and was a wonderful role model for her peers. We wish her all the best at the Swans and can't wait to see her in red and white. Go Lara!
Our Night of Excellence evening was filled with excitement, joy and honour as we gathered to present our students with awards for academics, House, community spirit, sports, and many others. Well done to all our awardees. We look forward to what 2024 will bring for our students.
The sun shone as staff lined the driveway waving goodbye to our Year 7-9s! The students laughed and were excited when they walked through the cherry red gates, saying goodbye to Sion for 2023! We wish everyone a safe, happy Christmas and holiday. See you in 2024!
Year 7 Challenge Day saw students collaborate enthusiastically to complete STEAM challenges. They listened to and engaged with senior and past students who pursued areas of STEAM in their chosen pathways, which showed the exciting possibilities that can be explored.
For our final Year 9 Ayin event, students celebrated with their Mind, Body, Soul Day. They were engaged in workshops to help promote a balance & nurturing of their whole selves. It was a special opportunity for the students to take the time and embrace these activities.
We welcomed our incoming Year 7 students, the only ones from their primary school coming to Sion in 2024. Our Sion One Program helps make the adjustment from primary school easier, enabling students to connect as they engage in fun group activities. Welcome to the Sion community.
At our end-of-year eucharist, 60 Christmas toiletry bags assembled by Year 7-10 students were presented during the offertory. Our College traditionally assists St. Vincent de Paul and these are being donated to those in need in the Box Hill and Fitzroy area.
Farewell to our Year 11s who officially left our College today. We hope 2023 was remarkable and helped prepare you for Year 12. We wish you the best over the summer holidays and look forward to welcoming you back in 2024 refreshed, rejuvenated and ready for Year 12.

The Sion First Year 6 Music Program concluded for 2023 with a graduation concert, and we look forward to the 2023 Sion First class becoming fully-fledged Sionians in 2024. We then welcomed 70 families to the launch of the 2024 program, where girls could try instruments.
We are excited to announce a new learning adventure – the CASE Film & Arts School International Study Program in Dec '24. The 14-day immersion in NY & LA cultivates young leaders, nurturing creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills for any study path.

The Spring Concert is a highlight of the Year 7 Music program. The Intermediate Concert Band joined our Junior Strings, Junior Choir & the two Concert Bands. The evening was expertly hosted by our Year 7 Music representatives Sophie J (7 Gold) and Mietta L (7 Blue). Well done.
Inspired by artist Wendy Murray, a visual artist, our Year 10 art class recreated photos of everyday scenes around Sion using fine liner and watercolour. The resemblance of the areas they have painted is remarkable. Can you pick them out? Well done to our very talented artists.
In the piazza this week are post-its of support from the student body to the seniors who are currently completing exams. This was an initiative of the SRC team, who wanted to show their encouragement and support for the senior students.
We are thrilled to announce that Keets B (12 Silver) and Nat B (11 Gold) represented GSV in the Premier water polo match against the APS held at Caulfield Grammar School. With fabulous intercepts by Nat and wonderful saves by Keets, they won 14-1! Congratulations to the sisters!
St Vincent de Paul Schools Conference members attended a networking event facilitated by the SVdP Youth Engagement team. Our students celebrated their social justice efforts with like-minded students and presented the Good Works they have engaged in this year.
An update on our beautiful College roses, which were successfully relocated and appear to be enjoying their time in the Dandenongs. The roses were planted in the front gardens by Sr Patricia and Sr Stella in celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the College.
