TRAFFIC CHANGE: Eastbound traffic at the downtown traffic signals in Sioux Center may no longer turn right when their light is red. A "No Turn On Red" sign is posted for eastbound traffic on 3rd St. N that is turning right to go south on Highway 75. This is due to limited visibility of traffic coming from the north on Highway 75 at this intersection.

Sioux Center's fireworks are Sat., July 4, 10 p.m. launched from south edge of Ridge Golf Course. Tomorrow (Sat., June 6) 1st Ave E will be closed for Summer Celebration activities. It will be closed from 3rd St. NE to 6th St NE all day near Central Park for the Car Show, Merchant Market, and more. All of 1st Ave E between 9th St. SE and 7th St. NE will be closed from 3-7 p.m. for the Summer Celebration parade lineup and parade.

Sioux Center's community-owned electric utility is considering a small rate increase to keep up with rising costs of wholesale electricity and continue to invest in reliability for Sioux Center. If approved, an average household of four would see a $7 increase this year on monthly utility bills, and a similar increase the following year. TRAFFIC ALERT: Traffic will shift tomorrow (Tuesday) on the southbound lanes of Highway 75 near Pizza Hut for a planned pavement patch. Southbound traffic will be diverted to the Frontage Road from 16th St SW (near Kwik Star) to 20th St SW (near Pizza Hut) for a few days. Northbound lanes will remain open to traffic. TRAFFIC ALERT - This coming Tues., May 26, Highway 75 will be fully closed from 5th St. N (near Perspective Insurance) to 7th St. N (near Casey's gas), including the entire 7th St. N intersection. About one block of 7th St. NE, from Hwy 75 to 1st Ave NE, will also be closed. Contractors will remove the road surface and continue remaining utility and underground work before grading and preparing it for paving. Traffic on Highway 75 will still be able to come into Sioux Center from the north and south but will not be able to go through this closure area. UPDATE: The paving work on 13th Ave. SE/Harrison Ave. is anticipated to take place tomorrow (Tuesday) due to the forecasted rain on Monday. Please avoid the 13th Ave. and 20th St. SE intersection if possible Tuesday, or expect delays there.

TRAFFIC ALERT: Please avoid 13th Ave SE and 20th St. SE Monday near the intersection by the Sioux Center Wastewater Treatment Plant for paving work. Vehicles that travel there should expect significant delays at the 13th Ave. and 20th St. SE intersection when the paving contractor on Harrison Ave/13th St. SE reaches the intersection from the south. There will be flaggers to guide traffic. Traffic should return to normal at this intersection by Monday night.

Monday the lane closure on Highway 75 in Sioux Center will shift to west side of hwy, between 9th St. NW (Central Vet Clinic) and 12th St. N (near McDonald’s intersection). Underground contractor will install utilities along side of road. Hwy 75 still open to thru traffic.
