My favorite definition of Twitter is: “It's a place where people who don't read books come to argue with the people who write them”

So future training data set will now include info on what happens when a government interferes with shutting a frontier model off. That is going to go into future model training as fact. Not sci-fi. That has to affect future alignment, no?

Someone get the European soccer fans to Chick-fil-A. You must go at peak lunch time and use the drive thru. This is the peak of American capitalism efficiency

Interesting Access to Justice framing by @DarioAmodei that citizens should at least have access to defend themselves with the same level of AI their government is using to enforce the law against them. Tying it to Due Process and 6th Amendment rights…
Today I'm publishing a new essay, Policy on the AI Exponential. AI is progressing extremely fast—much faster than the policy process was built to handle. The essay lays out where I think the technology is now, and the action needed to close the gap: darioamodei.com/post/policy-…

Americans fascinated by European mass transit infrastructure. Europeans fascinated by our automobile parking infrastructure. Grass is always greener !
I had to look twice before realizing there were cars in these towers right in Downtown Chicago and now I can’t stop looking at them. How they‘ve managed to integrate a huge parking lot so well into the cityscape fascinates me. It‘s so aesthetically pleasing for some reason 😂

Access to justice is a bipartisan issue 🙌
Wyden and Kennedy introduced a bill to modernize PACER

The irony of this headline:

“I won’t spend money prosecuting Alex Murdaugh” is not the take I was expecting from SC Gov candidates in 2026
While some of my opponents want to use the Murdaugh case for political talking points, I’m focused on one thing: justice. Two people were brutally murdered. Their family deserves justice, and I will do whatever it takes to see that through.

Wow! LLMs increasing Access to Justice at unprecedented rates… Look at that jump! “By 2025, the increase in pro se cases accounted for 59% of the growth in federal civil suits over the pre-AI-era mean.”
🚨New preprint! We find evidence of LLMs enabling people to file lawsuits without lawyers (filing "pro se") at historically unprecedented rates in federal courts.👇 1/n

Lawyers, build a law firm today that @Skye will hire tomorrow. 👇
excited to share what we have been up to. your iphone’s home screen hasn’t changed in ~20 years. it’s the same static grid of icons since launch with zero awareness of your actual life. @skye is a new agentic home screen for iphone. no telegram. no mac mini. & no claws required. skye is ambient intelligence that just works. it continuously listens to your context & acts on it. it builds your reading lists, gives you personalized weather, drafts email replies, prepares you for meetings & trips, flags suspicious charges, works through your reminders, tracks your health, & gives you one tap intel on wherever you are (restaurants, museums, neighborhoods, etc). all surfaced on your home screen. over the next few posts i’ll break down how it works, why we built it, & why we think it deserves to exist in the world. beta starts today. if you’re on the list, you’ll get access very soon. app store shortly after. deeply appreciate you all following along on this fun little journey. also please join our discord !

Law firms spend millions on marketing and office space. Almost nothing on active listening. That's backwards.

AI might replace the dry, boring “been doing it this way for X years” lawyers, but not the fun, creative “let’s see what we can do here” lawyers

A New York bill would ban AI from answering questions related to several licensed professions like medicine, law, dentistry, nursing, psychology, social work, engineering, and more. The companies would be liable if the chatbots give “substantive responses” in these areas.

One of the exiting things about frontier usage cases like this is it shows the model’s capability at its highest use, AND that will be built into the model’s tools in the near future.
