Today a student told me I was a good teacher. When I asked why, he said, โYou have good energy, and I can tell you enjoy what you do.โ
Wow. That one landed.
Our work is much more than teaching content. Itโs about showing up in ways that lift students and educators around us.
Ever feel like students are just collecting a "folder of facts" but missing the story that connects them?
We used the Finding Throughlines routine to look at 4 different animals.
How do you help your students see the "Big Picture"? Put it in the comments! ๐
Spending today reflecting on the incredible work happening in classrooms. I feel fortunate that my role allows me to partner with educators and support students in taking ownership of their learning. Here are a few pics from this week to celebrate.

Hereโs the group photo (minus our virtual folks!) of the awesome Alleghany Highlands math educators digging into #MathWorkshop for their book study. Their students are lucky to have them, and Iโm grateful to be part of their journey.
#ChangeTheStory#EveryoneIsAMathPerson
The Prince Edward math teachers dug into formative assessments and how to create immediate, flexible small groups that move learning.
Teachers practiced:
- Surfacing student thinking quickly
- Identifying misconceptions on the spot
