Available for just a couple of days, the album "Beginnings" was re-released as "Ambrose Slade – Beginnings Of Slade" in 1975 by Contour records, before being withdrawn for copyright reasons almost immediately.

The cover photo for the band's debut album Beginnings (as Ambrose Slade), was shot by Richard Stirlin at Pouk Hill in Walsall on a freezing cold day, not too far from where Noddy was then living. The shoot inspired the lyrics for the track Pouk Hill on the band's second album.
