I think thats the hardest to get about being demi sexual and demi romantic. Lots of people choose to not act on their attraction, but if your demi it really is like your brain suddenly remembers that sexual/romantic attraction exist after you woke up one morning.

i've seen a big problem where a villain/antagonistic character is revealed to have a sad/sympathetic backstory and the fandom immediately assumes the backstory presentation is trying to *justify* the villain's actions and ends up getting angry over it
