I'm very disappointed in the Ordinals space right now.
I've tried my hardest to stay out of all of the silly drama that has been stirred up over the past month but now people are crossing lines that force me to say something.
Doxxing people in crypto is never okay.
The reason that so many people choose to use pseudonyms in this space has nothing to do with their backgrounds IRL (most people live boring, normal lives outside of crypto). It has to do with their personal safety.
It is an unfortunate reality that there are sophisticated criminals out there who organize wrench attacks on people in our space every year.
It is also an unfortunate reality that there are mentally ill people on the internet who often fixate on those with larger voices.
Whether you believe you are doxxing for a just reason or not there are real life implications of your actions that effect the personal safety of the individual and their loved ones. There is no excuse for crossing this line.
It has been very sad to watch so many in this space turn PvP on each other as soon as they realized the local top was in. Multiple communities have started the absolute dumbest dramas with each other. Completely unnecessary FUD from all sides, sharing screenshots from private chats, botting people's accounts, etc. All of it is an absolute disgrace to this space and if you are participating in any of it even by retweeting or liking it you are better than that and you know it.
If you don't like an individual, company, or community in the Ordinals space for any reason, either articulate your exact and specific concerns with evidence in a civil manner or do not say anything at all.
The depressing reality is that the root of most tweets is people wanting more money and influence. On twitter this manifests itself as "bag bias" and "engagement farming". Both are complete plagues and the worst part of all is that I actually believed we could build a different culture here where people showed respect to each other but it's looking more and more like I was wrong.
Most of the influential, reasonable voices in this space have understandably tried to stay as far away from the toxicity as possible but today it boiled up into something that couldn't be ignored.
This ecosystem is brand new and we have an incredible opportunity that lays in front of us. There will be real battles that will require all of us to come together to fight down the road.
If you acted like a jerk to someone or did something hurtful over the past few weeks on any sides go apologize to them. They will either accept your apology or not and if they don't just move on without them.
This stuff needs to stop.
