It's kinda funny how a lot people always defend the idea of sprint in Halo by saying some bullshit like "the franchise needs to evolve!" despite the fact that it was able to evolve and stay fresh throughout its original trilogy run perfectly fine without it

So much time and effort wasted on an ultimately useless feature that's, realistically, aimed at the lowest common denominator since sprint is just the illusion of moving fast. On top of this, it just slows down Halo's gameplay by having to lower your weapon to "run fast"

regardless of how CEA pitched itself it should simply be judged as the product it IS, same as the new remake.
i dont see how its not trying to overwrite the original at least to some extent, regardless of if im a fan of it or not.
If it wasnt, MCC would be on Playstation
What I think works for the remake is it does enough new to justify its existence in a way that I dont think CEA did which was just an ugly makeover of the original.
It doesnt feel like "the definitive CE" in the way CEA tried to pitch itself as. It feels like an alternate take

I spent a lot of time researching Forerunner design language and what newer Halo games get right/wrong.
Main thing: It is metal but should behave more like stone in light. This means increasing roughness, avoid edgewear, kill specular and sheen, and keep normal details shallow.
