It’s really bizzare how you can’t use so many fighters in certain divisions.
It’s one of the biggest flaws of the game right now. Divisions get boring when only a couple fighters are viable in each one. We need more.

Justin had every tool to exploit the gaps in Ilia's defence (tho he didn't leg kick much). It was always gonna be tough for Ilia at every range (distance/pocket/clinch)
Ilia neglected his best work to try and get Justin out early and ended up accumulating too much damage.

I need to give less weight to the perceived notion of being “past prime”
I knew Justin had all the tools to beat Ilia. I will never doubt the man again.
If this was Prime for Prime, I’d favour Gaethje. The low stance Ilia has is prey for uppercuts and collar ties and he’s heavy on his lead leg/doesn’t check leg kicks. Gaethje also a better pocket operator.
But he needs to fight the best fight I don’t know he can at this stage.
