Britain has seen quite the decline in carbon intensity from electricity and 2024 is a landmark year:
- Wind and solar combined are set to overtake gas as the largest electricity supplier
- The last coal power station was closed
- There was a record breaking offshore wind auction

In August, 🌬 wind provided 31.8% of Great Britain’s electricity, with gas coming second at 16.8% ⚡ Zero-carbon sources provided 60% of our electricity, peaking at 87% on 23 August at 10am 🍃 Demand for electricity peaked on 28 August at 5pm. 📈 View August’s stats. 👀👇
