Some thought: 1) The Anthropic fiascos is a self-inflicted wound and likely a payback. 2) I spent the night helping many clients off of Anthropic and moving to local open source models and many very large clients will NEVER go back. This has absolutely advantaged open source model from China. 3) This situation NO MATTER WHAT permanently damaged the Anthropic IPO. 4) At 3AM last night I helped a client team move a massive account off of all Anthropic products. This was worth millions of dollars per month and this was the last straw. 5) The fall of Anthropic should not be applauded by anyone. The fall of the company should be viewed as an injury to All US AI COMPANIES. 6) The Anthropic fiasco is not a technical issue, it is a LEADERSHIP issue. If it is not fixed the company is cooked. 7) By the time we end this summer no matter how good Anthropic is, they lose customers, they lose key employees and they ultimately will lose the race. It was a sad day on top of a massively great day with the SpaceX IPO and one reason I did not post last night. Dario asked to be regulated, begged to be regulated and yelled to be regulated… NOW HE IS REGULATED. You like it now Dario?
Unprecedented. @BrianRoemmele warned everyone for the past two years that the government would take away our AI. That day just arrived. Was talking with an entrepreneur in San Francisco who was running Fable to build software and just turned it off while it was building. Tomorrow night Anthropic is throwing a Fable builders event in San Francisco. I wonder if that event is still going to happen? This hurts American national security. I know of several companies that were using Mythos to close all of their security holes because it is so powerful at finding weaknesses in software. That effort has not been completed, so there are many companies with many holes still open now. This throws that effort into question. It also means that China is emboldened because, you know, can you trust an American company to keep their systems up and running if the government is willing to shut them down so abruptly and with no warning? It also means that open source and running models on your own computers is now very attractive (if it wasn't already). Expect Apple Mac Studio sales to go up.

The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees. The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance. Access to all other Claude models is not affected. We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible. Read our full statement: anthropic.com/news/fable-myt…

That's right, software so good you have to be American to use it. I wonder what they're doing, to all the spies that are still using it? Insane guardrails that cause a lot of your requests to fail, oh wait, that's regular users.

I'm not a big fan of gold, but I do like how this looks. Heading to physical rehab, have a great day y'all.

Made my first image on quality mode on Grok Imagine I actually like. The helmet is still off a little.

3 months post-SCI. 2 surgeries, 3 hospital stays, 24/7 pain/spasms, down 30lbs, can't walk. The stats are heavy. But progress is happening: ASIA A to C. Nervous system is rewiring. Hands and legs slowly coming back online. PT every day. Putting work in rebuilding.

I highly recommend community noting all these ads. It never occurred to me that you could do this, so plus 10 points to this user for the idea, minus 69 points for dead naming the app. How you identify these? If it has a pre-roll on the video, then it's an ad.

I could agree with the labeling. Problem is if you work in social media management, you use things like Hootsuite, and Metricool. These let you schedule posts, outside the app. No one who's serious about running a social media account uses the scheduled post function on X.
At a minimum make scheduled posts labeled as such.

I never realized how many undisclosed ads there are, this is crazy. Also can I just say, the FTC fine is going to be huge we're talking millions of dollars. I'm also thinking about switching to Premium plus again, ads are bad literal brainwashing.

Crazy work here: X pushes paid partner posts as organic content. the pre-roll "Ad" is Dove. but the FOX/Billboard post itself is ALSO paid. no disclosure. That's deceptive under 15 U.S.C. § 45. material connection must be clear. hiding it behind another ad doesn't count. platform is the advertiser. not a neutral host.

Downgraded to Premium. The ad targeting here is impressively bad. Give the algorithm a few years of data plus varied interests and it just panics. AI has no idea what to sell me, so it sells me everything. Weirdly freeing.

I was explaining superpositions to someone, how the observer effect works, and I'm just like Grok take the wheel. It knows I like the cyberpunk aesthetic and the word vibes. The person was still confused. I'm giving a 5 out of 10 for the effort.

Every doctor I go to: "Some other guy handles this, not my problem" Every time internally I'm just like "excuse me aren't you a doctor?" So anyways another 6 weeks for a specialist to tell me the same thing.

Finally doing outpatient physical rehab next week. Crazy how long that took to be approved.

Well good news. The rehab doctor said there is a high likelihood I walk again. Now we just need to qualify for a phase 2 inpatient rehab to make that happen.

I was talking with Grok for a bit. Got to a really good place, wasted a lot of time, electricity, and then I asked it to draw our conversation. Then I added my take on the prompt. Was a good distraction.

So I was trying to generate a video today in grok. They kept getting moderated and I was like why is it being moderated? Turns out if you write the word cockpit in a certain way, it'll get moderated. What a world!
