Thank for the contributions of hundreds of researchers, conservation organizations, scholars, and community rangers. Conducting fundamental research and surveys is no easy task. May the shared home of humans and snow leopards continue to thrive.

🐆New study alert!
1st large-scale #PAWS assessment of snow leopards in #China est. ~1,000 individuals across 360,000 km² on the Tibetan Plateau (avg 0.90/100 km²). This could represent 11-21% of the global population!

Habitat fragmentation is a big threat to biodiversity worldwide. In the Gobi Desert, @WCS_Mongolia studies its effect on wildlife. They also work with nomadic herders (here recently placing GPS collars on livestock) to understand how fenced railways impact livestock and people.
