🐆New study alert!
1st large-scale #PAWS assessment of snow leopards in #China est. ~1,000 individuals across 360,000 km² on the Tibetan Plateau (avg 0.90/100 km²). This could represent 11-21% of the global population!

Habitat fragmentation is a big threat to biodiversity worldwide. In the Gobi Desert, @WCS_Mongolia studies its effect on wildlife. They also work with nomadic herders (here recently placing GPS collars on livestock) to understand how fenced railways impact livestock and people.
