This #Braves #SFGiants fiasco tonight is the number one example of why an educated meteorologist should be consulted by MLB and its teams.
Direct tap of tropical moisture overriding a stalled front is resulting in never-ending light precipitation that is so low in the atmosphere that traditional radar can’t detect as easily because the radar beam overshoots the moisture.
Only a meteorologist would recognize this. @JimCantore @spann @wxbrad @CJNitkowski

McDowell High School Athletics has found a new leader for its baseball program going into the 2027 season as current Asheville High coach Bill Hillier has been hired as new McDowell baseball coach and Director of District Baseball Operations.
The hiring of Hillier was approved recently by the McDowell County Board of Education.
Hillier brings a strong baseball pedigree to McDowell High. The son of former UNC-Asheville and Duke University head coach Bill Hillier Sr, Bill Jr. has been at the helm at Asheville High since 2006 and has turned the Cougars into a very competitive program in the Mountain Athletic Conference.
Hillier will be taking over for Alex Smith (234-216) who was head coach of the Titans for 19 seasons.

The Miami Heat is the first NBA team that I’ve seen so far to announce their local broadcast rights plan for the 2026-27 season.
I’d say we will begin to hear more about other teams as we go through the summer. Both the NBA and NHL, like MLB did earlier this year, are scrambling for plans with the Main Street Sports Owned (FanDuel Sports) fading out.
