Yes this is a new dynamic. Short-form video is the medium of our age and can be framed to suggest a national crime wave (or police anti-white racism). HMG has not yet worked out how to respond to this.

Thread. Note especially the maxim: ‘The adverb is almost always a sign that you chose the wrong verb.’ He says this, with a straight face, using the adverbs ‘almost’ and ‘always’. The fault is not the tweeter’s but Zinsser’s. It’s a dreadful book full of bad advice. Bin it.
William Zinsser taught writing at Yale, then wrote the book that has fixed more bad writing than every English class combined. Here are 10 cuts from "On Writing Well" that instantly make your writing twice as strong. 1) Delete every word doing no work

Here’s a spot of good news: in a survey of 125,000 kids aged 8 to 18 in 479 UK schools, 36.1% say they like reading in their spare time — up from 32.7% last year. According to the National Literacy Trust, 20.3% say they read every day. Last year’s figure was 18.7%.

Sometimes (only sometimes) parental complaints to school are like complaining to an Italian restaurant that they don’t serve curry. And they’re going to complain to the highest level until they are made to serve curry. When there’s a perfectly good curry house a few shops along.

This research really just strengthens the case to separate behaviour and attendance in the Ofsted inspection toolkits. Either that or haul Taylor in for the attendance meeting.
A local spike in girls' absence the days after Taylor Swift concerts in their city has been cited by @educationgovuk in its plans to crack down on one-off absences tes.com/magazine/news/genera…

Questions need to asked after this Ben Stokes incident. Mainly, 'How did they find somewhere open that late on a Sunday?' And 'Do they make you wear trousers?'

Third name on the team sheet. Only player to take matters into his own hands last EURO’s. Any other country would be lucky to have him. Only England hates on mavericks like this, we want yes men instead.

Education is the only profession I know of in which a large proportion of its workers ("child-centered" progressives) are opposed to doing the very thing they are supposed to do (actively passing on knowledge and skills). There are no dentists opposed to teeth, no electricians who refuse to work with wires, no professional athletes averse to exerting themselves, no musicians who hate melody (well, actually, we may have few of those). But there is a whole segment of the teaching profession that is fundamentally against the active process of didactive instruction.

From what I am hearing about the cricket/rugby nightclub fracas, it would be ridiculous for @benstokes38 to lose his job as England captain and even be forced into retiring. The villain was the Saracens rugby player throwing punches not Stokes or Atkinson.

Harry Kane discourse the absolute worst part of England football twitter. Fella just scored 60 goals playing like it this season but Big Dave from Ipswich reckons he should stop dropping deep and Ivan Toney should start instead

But there is a link between PP and achievement grade. High PP correlates with lower achievement grades. However high PP also correlates with lower prior attainment. I think prior attainment is the KEY contextual factor that Ofsted need to get a grip on.

My analysis looks at this and I am happy to share but with the very significant health warning that some of the n's are very (very!) small and thus averages are prone to significant swings due to individual schools.
