Average UK house prices increased by 2.6%, to £272,000 in the 12 months to September 2025, down from 3.1% in the 12 months to August. Average UK private rents rose by 5.0%, to £1,360 in the 12 months to October 2025, down from 5.5% in the 12 months to September.

Seasonally adjusted ‘Total’ Direct Debit average transaction amount for "Water" in Apr 2025 had the largest rise when compared to Mar '25 (4%). Compared with Apr 2024, the average transaction amount increased by 2% in Apr 2025 driven by rises in: • Water (19%) • Mortgages (7%)
