Think I'm one of 3 people who wants to see more representation in fiction of secret, sinister organizations that go "ooh you will never fathom our designs" and are actually fucking incompetent and/or have no solid plan whatsoever and/or utterly mired in its own members' pettiness
Yeah, but, what was the plan?

The SteelFront team has come to a consensus: We have an impressive tech-demo, but not a full game. We also no longer have internal funding or full-time devs, but if there was interest from a publisher, the team could be motivated to huddle up and hammer out a more solid pitch.
Finally heard from the SteelFront team. As suspected, they decided what we'd built was a good foundation, but not a viable Early Access game. They're unsure if they have a plan for what to build on it, nor the budget to build. Some ideas are being floated, but no guarantees.

In the meantime, nothing's really stopping me from picking up the banner of the IP on my own (ex, continuing with the mod), but tbh I'd kinda rather devote that time and energy toward my own projects. But we'll see how things play out.

As mentioned before, the option of releasing as-is and funding development with Early Access sales is there, but nobody on the team wants to count on that. Not only is it uncertain, but we all agree it feels a tad scummy.

I open an online BBQ recipe. "Next you'll want to add soy sauce. Now I know what you're gonna say, 'soy sauce?! Where are we, china?!' Well, let me explain..." I close the online BBQ recipe.

It's frustrating putting so much time and efforts into game projects only for them to never get done or not make any money, but that's just the risk you take ig "Well, maybe just focus on making mods, then?"

[Ravenfield - Altirus] The Vaulgren Rifle's 14mm Tydas cartridge was named after its namesake inventor's son. After he was killed in a Secessionist tank attack while volunteering in the Thereic Civil War, the cartridge was renamed and redesigned for improved armor penetration.

[Ravenfield - Altirus] Starting in Hettic service as captured equipment, the Bressian GFH-152 II has been the mainstay of Royal Artillery since the High Mountains War, and in the hands of skilled artillery crews, a death sentence to any Syrvanian forces not constantly mobile.

[Ravenfield - Altirus] The RkP.25 Durg launcher was named after the "wailing widow" of Goroly folklore, based on the distinctive sound of the motors used on the RA.28 family of 280cm rocket. Unlike its namesake, the sound alone won't take your soul. But the payload probably will.

[Ravenfield - Altirus] The Rocqueledge Machine-Rifle was among the earliest weapons described in modern parlance as a light machine-gun. Despite a number of issues and inconveniences, it is also among the few LMGs of its time to survive multiple decades in service.

[Ravenfield - Altirus] The Brandt-Elwick Autoloader, a semi-auto, toggle-lock conversion of the Brandt rifle. A lemon for the Hettic Home Army during the Second Leersog War, but with production blocks being purchased when any semi-auto capability was a boon, it was all they had.

Some interactive fanart for the venerable @simonroyart's Citizen One comic: the direct support variant of the Universal Rover, liberating Ravenfield in Reunion's Only Slightly Authoritarian revolution! (Balance pass still needed, ignore the buggies tanking multiple 100mm shells)

The idea of selling what we currently have based on potential, and using sales to fund work to meet that potential, was mentioned, but to be frank, the whole team feels scummy even considering it, especially with nobody being able to commit to it full-time anymore.
