Receiving international payments (in USD or any other foreign currency) has always been an issue for Maldivian makers operating in global retail markets. No retail customer will reasonably purchase goods/services for which they have to initiate wire transfers and wait several days for it to settle. The payment gateways offered by BML and MIB are inadequate and offer no solution for recurring payments as is the norm for SaaS/PaaS products.
Receiving USD in Maldives was never really the issue. BML might occasionally place a hold on incoming funds, but once you provide an invoice (genuine or fake), they release the money.
The real challenge has always been sending USD abroad.
Does PayPal solve that problem?
No.

Hi @PayPal — I'm genuinely confused. I logged into my account today for the first time in almost a year to check the new service, only to find it permanently limited.
I've been a user since 2008, & appreciate some clarity on what policy or guideline was allegedly violated.

Today on the contrary, this government went to work on day 1 and today PAYPAL entered service in Maldives.
