Honouring a Life of Duty and Integrity
Today, I was in Benin City, Edo State, to attend the requiem Mass for the former Deputy Inspector-General of Police and respected former Chairman of the Police Service Commission, DIG Parry B. O. Osayande, held at the Holy Cross Cathedral.
It was a deeply reflective moment, as we gathered to honour a man whose life was marked by discipline, courage, and a commitment to the service of our nation. DIG Osayande dedicated decades of his life to strengthening our security institutions, promoting professionalism within the police force, and upholding the values of integrity and justice.
As we prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul, I once again extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all who were touched by his exemplary life. His passing is not just a personal loss to his loved ones, but a significant loss to our country.
May his legacy of service continue to inspire us to work for a safer, more just, and more peaceful Nigeria. May God Almighty grant his soul eternal rest and grant those he left behind, the fortitude to bear the loss. -PO
