So… we now have confirmation of an Israeli special ops vet running an infiltration operation into the UCLA encampment in coordination with the LA Sheriffs dept.

Universities like Columbia, Cornell and Emory trade on Vietnam Era protests to market themselves to student activists. Protest is part of their brand and sales pitch. Now they're punishing students for taking them at their word. 🧵

Just came back from the UCLA campus. A few quick thoughts:
1. The encampment is not very disruptive. It occupies a tiny part of UCLA's massive campus. Though it's been there for days, I saw a lot of students discovering it for the first time and asking "what's going on?"

@WestLASawtelle why would you post this & expose unhoused people to violence? How irresponsible and dangerous. Imagine having your address published online for reactionaries to show up & harass you at will. No one would accept that yet it's cool to do to unhoused pple? Disgusting
So… @WestLASawtelle just posted an encampment map on IG to incite violence against unhoused people. The map was provided by LAPD, of course.
Theyre now disabling comments on the post but not deleting the map.
