I really, really never though I'd have a chance to release this song.. genuinely this song means so much to me and I wrote the lyrics when I needed a glimmer of hope to the darkest of my days
Thank you @StarlightDaryl for writing this song!๐โคต๏ธ
a lot of people want to truly try everything and set out TO do everything, but i feel it often results in shallow approximations of what that is; treating styles and genres as no more than a checklist to run down instead of their own unique forms of art. there are no shortcuts.
the other thing is; you can tell if someone loves a thing if they're willing to put aside the time to research and study it lol, you don't just DO that unless there's a part of you that REALLY wants to dive into it, and that only comes with love (...unless you're in academia)
employment isn't the end-all-be-all for your journey at a specific craft or discipline, some of the greatest musicians and composers i know (who lowkey mog a good chunk of actual working professionals) decided not to pursue it for their own reasons.
it makes me super happy that a lot of younger composers have started their journeys on DAWs and often without really any formal training on an instrument, but I seriously believe that there'll be a point where you SHOULD be teaching yourself how to read /and write/ scores.
you can DAW your way through so much but if you ever want to work with live instruments or even an entire orchestra - even if you ultimately work with an orchestrator to do the engraving for you - you need to be able to proof-read and check their work in the first place.
it's not hard to pick up, honestly! I'm entirely self-taught in every aspect of music related to reading and writing sheet music--hell in my first year at berklee i didn't even know my key signatures!! but by senior year I was arranging music for a full symphony orchestra.

a short demonstration on the adaptive battle music in Diorama Break! (@studiomassimog)
this design is my attempt at taking the common implementation technique of crossfading between two variations of the same track and attempting to iterate on it further- (๐งต)
