Just seen this: 'Adults can still access social media through age checks like facial recognition, digital IDs, passports and credit cards.' So it's not just a ban for kids, it's ID-gating half of the internet.

It's not save the children It's a save our world view. They're seeing it crash and be replaced with another one where they will not be in comfy places.

Christopher Snowdon of the Institute of Economic Affairs said: "We must stop judging new legislation by the good intentions of its advocates rather than its likely consequences. We know from Australia that most teenagers will get around the ban and that those who are not able to do so will suffer from social isolation. There are legitimate concerns about screen addiction among both children and adults, but parents are already able to restrict what their children see online and limit the number of hours they can use a smartphone. These guardrails are removed when kids log in via VPNs or sign up to platforms as adults. What the government is trying to do is reminiscent of attempts to ban the printing press. It is similarly impractical, illiberal and ultimately undesirable."

Would be funny if it turned out Alphabet had been funding the NGO's that have been pushing this stuff.
🚨 NEW: YouTube has hit out at the UK's social media ban for under-16s "YouTube is a vital resource for young people, educators and parents. Blanket bans push kids out of such curated, supervised, beneficial experiences and towards anonymous, less safe services"

Not a good post The social media ban is not Well-intentioned at all. It's being pushed by a political class and NGO that have loss all legitimacy and who think they can hold on by just censoring the internet.
Whilst the social media ban is well-intentioned, it’s unlikely to work given the mass adoption of VPNs. It will also mean the introduction of Digital ID via the back door. The real answer here is handsets for children with limited features.

Oh Boy do i have experience of this.
There are over 1 million unemployed young people across the country. But local authorities are blocking white Brits from accessing taxpayer funded employment schemes to help them get back into work. Taxpayers' cash should not be spent on anti-white two-tier schemes.

Reform the Gambler's choice of party.
📊 Interesting results from Public First's polling on prediction markets! More than half of Reform voters think it's acceptable to bet on election outcomes, and they're the most relaxed about betting on celebrity deaths. Greens are surprisingly chill, while the Lib Dems are the biggest pearl-clutchers. publicfirsttech.substack.com…

"Reform Are a left-wing party, not like us in the conservatives which is why we must Unite the right which means Reform must join us in a coalition incase they don't win a majority like we did with the Lib dems in 2010."
