Minneapolis really fumbled. We couldโ€™ve elected a Muslim socialist as mayor too, but Linden Hills decided it wanted another four years of a corporate Democrat.

The wars of independence in the US, Colombia, and Brazil are not considered โ€œcontroversialโ€ by FIFA, but Haiti gets the book thrown at them. I wonder why ๐Ÿค”
๐Ÿšจ BREAKING! ๐Ÿคฏ The Haiti National Team will have to change its uniform for the World Cup. ๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ‡น FIFA has asked Saeta, the company responsible for the uniform's design, to alter it due to potential political messages. ๐Ÿ‘• Haiti's jersey features a design of the Battle of Vertiรจres from 1803. This battle was considered decisive for the country's independence following the conflict with France. โš”๏ธ โ„น๏ธ @geglobo

If youโ€™re silent when the U.S. bullies itโ€™s way into lithium and copper mining near protected ecosystems in Bolivia and Peru, but you go full on resist mode when a Chilean multinational try to crack open the Boundary Waters, your environmental politics are inconsistent at best.

Privatizing the commons and evicting subsistence miners by military force in Latin America is a practice as old as capitalism itself.
๐Ÿšจ ๐Ÿ‡ป๐Ÿ‡ช ๐Ÿ’ฅ Se reportan fuertes enfrentamientos en la zona minera del Estado de Bolรญvar. Mexico debuts Olinia, an NEV/LSV model that retails for around $9,000. It will be marketed to urbanites. Your average American lives in a city and is already buying cars that are assembled in Mexico. Americaโ€™s protection of the legacy auto sector is basically a regressive tax.
Hoy presentamos Olinia, el auto elรฉctrico creado por jรณvenes mexicanas y mexicanos.

Imagine 3MM wealthy Americans moved to the UK, allied with powerful local interests, demanded regime change back home, and co-dictated British foreign policy toward the US. Sounds bad, right? This is what Miami hardliners and the US government have done to Cuba for 60 years.

Minera La Victoria, which runs a joint venture with the Australian mining firm Antilles Gold, is on the latest list of Cuban sanctions. The Trump administration is about to run the same play they did with the Canadian mining firm Sherritt: distress and dispossess.
For decades, Cuba has been the world capital for radical left-wing terrorism. The regime in Havana has recruited, trained and backed violent Marxist and third-worldist movements across our hemisphere and beyond. Today, we are targeting the network that enables and funds Cuba's subversive and radical operations. Pursuant to sanctions authorities created by President Trumpโ€™s groundbreaking Cuba Executive Order, I am designating the following entities: 1. Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba (MINFAR) 2. Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) 3. Amistur Cuba S.A. 4. Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) 5. Minera La Victoria S.A. Anyone providing services to these sanctioned actors is at risk of sanctions themselves. Foreign banks and other companies that provide services to these entities should freeze those activities. The Trump Administration will no longer tolerate radical Marxist regimes in our hemisphere seeking to threaten U.S. national security and engage in influence operations to export their poisonous and evil โ€œrevolutionโ€ to our country and around the world.

Miami is not a monolith. Gladys Canizares left #Cuba alone at 15, sent to the U.S. through Operation Pedro Pan. Years later in Miami, she became an organizer in the hardline Cuban American lobby. Today, she's one of the loudest voices to end the embargo she once defended.

Bolivia, where Spanish colonists invented transnational capitalism in the 1500s, is once again showing the world how to dismantle it.
Rural workers in Bolivia have seized an oil field in the Santa Cruz region and halted all production, as part of the general strike against neoliberalism. The site, in the Santa Rosa del Sara municipality, is now fully offline.
