It is that awful anniversary again. 32 years ago today, twenty-five people died behind locked doors making cheap chicken tenders in HAMLET, NC.
This was NO ACCIDENT. They died b/c of calculated neglect.
Never again.

ALT From left, UGA history professors Claudio Saunt, Cindy Hahamovitch and Scott Nelson all have been awarded fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation since 2019. One of the most prestigious awards given to arts and humanities scholars, Guggenheim fellowships allow recipients time to work on specific projects. UGA’s winners have devoted their time to studying topics like Native American removal in the 19th century, the history of labor migration and its connections to human trafficking, and the critical importance of grain production in world geopolitics.
