There is a serious constitutional crisis when the legislative branch of the federal government is unable to legislate because of self-imposed ‘extra-constitutional’ rules and procedures. The Byrd Rule… named for a long-dead Democrat leader who appears to control the Senate from the grave. The filibuster rule that can’t work because of some long ago interpretation of the filibuster process. The question is whether the Senate leaders will continue to allow their foolish adherence to arcane rules and procedures to create this constitutional crisis. They say they won’t “nuke” the filibuster. But they also won’t overturn the long ago ruling by a parliamentarian who “interpreted” the 2-speech rule to mean the filibuster can never ever end. As we have had to learn more about the Senate rules, it is becoming increasingly clear that the Senate is refusing to protect the filibuster by overturning the interpretation that makes the filibuster impossible to end without a supermajority. That’s a constitutional crisis and rather than seriously address the issue and the procedures and the rules, the Senators left town. So disgraceful. We will know soon enough where these Senators went if they traveled during the recess. How many went on junkets. Who had fundraising trips. What they did rather than face their responsibilities. Like funding DHS. Like securing our elections. Like addressing this constitutional crisis they have allowed to take over the Senate and that they refuse to remedy. This is not what the voters bargained for. This irresponsible bunch of Senators who refuse to protect the Senate and ensure its ability to function to serve the people. They’re mad at @BasedMikeLee for calling this all into public view. On full display so we now see it - understand it. And hate it. But he’s not the problem. They just didn’t want the public to ever find out. But now we know. And we are disgusted. @EIwatchdogs @BasedMikeLee @chiproytx

This is an obvious and blatant violation of Päivi Räsänen’s right to religious freedom. We will continue to work together to protect this fundamental freedom globally.
Holding Christian beliefs isn’t a crime. Finland’s “hate speech” conviction of MP Päivi Räsänen – for simply writing a pamphlet defending the Bible – shows the tragic state of religious freedom in the West. The United States stands opposed to these ideological attacks against the Christian faith.

I can’t express how enraging and unjust this decision is. No one ever filed a complaint about her pamphlet written 20 years ago. The prosecutors only found out because of a witch hunt after her Bible tweet, dredging anything they could up. 11 judges over three levels of courts over 5 years looked at her case. 8 would fully acquit, but 3 decided that a handful of lines were “too” offensive. So Paivi must be made a criminal. How is that in any way justice? On top of that, they order the pamphlet destroyed and removed from the internet. Truly Year Zero, Orwellian thinking. Conservative Christian beliefs made a perpetual crime. Through it all, Paivi has exemplified a truly Christlike spirit. This ordeal should have been over today, but it isn’t. This decision should outrage the world over how extreme the European “hate speech” regime has become.
🚨BREAKING: Päivi Räsänen unanimously acquitted for her Bible tweet, but convicted of “hate speech” for a 20 year-old church pamphlet The conviction is under the “war crimes and crimes against humanity” section of Finland’s criminal code, alongside Bishop Juhana Pohjola.

I am appalled that—while Päivi Räsänen was thankfully acquitted for her 2019 Bible verse tweet—the Finnish Supreme Court has convicted her of criminal “hate speech” for a church pamphlet she wrote in 2004, long before the law in question was passed. Her Lutheran bishop, Juhana Pohjola, was also convicted for publishing the pamphlet, when all they did was share their beliefs in the public square. In its 3-2 ruling, the Court ordered the pamphlet to be “removed from public access and destroyed.” This is a dark day for freedom in Europe and across the Western world. Punishing peaceful expression undermines the very foundation of free societies. The right to speak freely, including on matters of faith and morality, is firmly protected under international law. We will continue to stand with Dr. Räsänen and Bishop Pohjola as they consider an appeal to the European Court of Human Rights. The Western world has aggressively adopted more and more restrictions on speech. This case makes clear beyond doubt that now is the time for the governments of Europe to repeal unjust “hate speech laws” and commit to a free speech reset.

Last week, I was honored to visit the @WhiteHouse and meet an inspiring group of persecuted Christians to hear their stories. DRL and the Trump Administration will always stand up for our fellow Christians who are increasingly persecuted around the world. Many thanks to the White House Faith Office for organizing this gathering.

🚨 BREAKING: The Senate just shot down Mike Lee's amendment to remove $7 BILLION in earmarks for - Aid to illegals - Puberty blockers to kids - Green policies - DEI initiatives "This amendment would strike the earmarks from this bill. In this bill package, there are about $7 billion in earmark spending." "Now, a lot of people like to say, and I like those other earmarks, but I like my own, so I'm going to vote for all of it so they can all stay in there." "What do these $7 billion do? Well, among other things, they do a lot, including a whole lot of them, in spending on woke, wasteful, and unjustified spending." "To recipients to fund housing and legal aid for illegal aliens, puberty blockers for kids, building EV charging stations part of the Green News scam, subsidize California disaster rail system, fund infrastructure and renovation projects at Wealthy, MET Museum, and the Michigan AFL-CIO, a dance festival in Massachusetts, DEI initiatives." "Look, we don't need this. We don't want this. This is what's driving the train toward the $38.5 trillion debt that we're adding to at a rate of $2 trillion a year. It's unacceptable. It must end."

Professional organizers in the 1970s trained me as a teenager to do the stupid protest stuff like vandalism, destroying property, and creating provocations to get stomped and clubbed by National Guardsmen for the news cameras to turn people against the authorities. We thought it was a fun adventure and enjoyed being part of an edgy "struggle" in what we had been led to believe was a righteous cause. In my case, it was anti-nuclear activism. Those who knew what they were doing never put themselves in danger. They trained and set up the rest of us as dupes to face the consequences. That was about 80 percent of us. They used us to create outrage imagery, and to use our shouts and chants to intimidate political figures and the public. They used us to provoke situations that would turn the public against the police and National Guard. We were just all-American high school kids. Harmless. Idealistic. Innocent-looking. It was all engineered anger. PSYOP against the public and against ourselves. When I realized that the cause wasn't about the cause, but was about a Communist revolution against our country, I broke ranks and spent the rest of my life fighting them. I was 16 years old at the time. Luckily I hadn't gotten involved in any destruction or violence, but had learned enough to infiltrate and disrupt the movement until I was well into my twenties. From that experience, I went on to infiltrate Communist guerrilla front groups, and Soviet international front organizations like the World Peace Council and disrupted their multimillion-dollar operations. This time, for Uncle Sam. Used the enemy's tactics against them. Most of the rest just chose to remain dupes. That was almost 50 years ago. The Minneapolis insurgency is nothing new. It has been evolving for decades, refined to an art form. What about the 20 percent who were not dupes? They knew exactly what they were doing. Back then, they had supported Fidel Castro, the Weather Underground, and our Vietcong and North Vietnam Communist enemies. Many of them are still around. Some remain sharp and militant. Others are the geriatrics you see with their "No Kings" signs, hauling out their grandchildren - or other people's grandchildren - to train them as the fourth or fifth generation of militants. Many are still dupes.

Such an honor to stand with the Co-Chairs Evîn Silêman Swêd & Hussein Othman of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East #Syria (DAANES). I so appreciate the warm welcome! First, the people of NE Syria defeated the ISIS Caliphate. Then, they went to work building self governance to fill the security and governance voids that otherwise would have been filled with other bad actors. Now, they are defeating extremism in their own communities, like in #Raqqa, by building an inclusive, cohesive society, including all religious communities. I always say that each layer of government here is like an IRF Roundtable, because they carefully include all religious and ethnic communities and then work together to solve their own problems. There is so much the world can learn from these brave leaders building a future for the people of NE Syria! You can watch my remarks here: fb.watch/vnnBd4-EmD/

Tampa Bay Rays player Taylor Walls was seen going "Fight, Fight" with his fist in the air. The St. Louis Cardinals’ dugout was seen holding their ears with their fists in the air after Alec Burleson hit a homerun.
