Not on here so much as I was. Over where the sky is blue and the racists are far less common.

My last ever Twitter post is to say this is absolutely insane.
Coventry City has made the difficult decision to terminate the contract of Mark Robins as manager. We thank Mark for all his achievements with us and wish him the best for the future. #PUSB

It’s been a blast. Thanks to everyone who has tolerated my ramblings. I’ve loved virtually meeting you all. Now, though, it’s time to say goodbye. I’ll be leaving this place at the end of today. If you want to stay in touch, I am also here …

Ukraine has delivered 14.5 thousand tons of corn to Malawi as part of the humanitarian program "Grain From Ukraine". Almost 5 thousand tons more will be delivered in the coming weeks. I am grateful to the UN World Food Programme and partners for supporting this effort. We know that Malawi is experiencing a devastating drought this year, which has destroyed a significant portion of local maize production and caused severe food insecurity. In these circumstances, we decided to lend a helping hand to the people and government of Malawi. This delivery of Ukrainian corn will help to stabilize the situation and provide for the monthly needs of over 1.5 million Malawians. Ukraine remains committed to its role as a global food security guarantor, even as it defends itself against Russia's full-scale invasion and attacks on our ports and agricultural infrastructure. Ukraine's goal is not only to provide food in times of need, but also to share knowledge and technology with our African partners to help them become more self-sufficient and independent in agricultural production. This will be one of the main focus areas of the upcoming 3rd Food Security Summit in Kyiv. We rely on a broad representation of African states and other partners at this important event. We can overcome the consequences of Russian aggression against Ukraine by standing together and upholding the principles of the UN Charter.

Do you know what I really hate? The woe is us headlines and social media posts. The shit has happened. We’ve got to deal with it. Performative despair is just self-indulgence.

Today would be a good day for Biden to lift restrictions on the use of our weapons by Ukraine in Russia. Putin is not going to use a nuclear weapon two months Trump comes into office. No way.

Highly irresponsible just as Trump is elected and Europe would need strong leadership. But then the German coalition had reached such disfunctionality that a hard end might be best. As if we all hadn’t had enough breaking news for today.

Really, you just have to laugh. Europe is entirely useless.
Remarkable. According to press reports the German Govt has fallen. So much for German leadership at this critical time

The crux of the matter is higher spending is inevitable, whether Europe decides to let Ukraine fall to Russian occupation or not. There is no reality where Putin conquers Ukraine and stops here; it's either supporting Ukraine now, or massively increased defence budgets later.

Ok. This might be controversial. But I think it is morally problematic to change published authors’ works after they die to make their social attitudes more palatable. It’s covering up the truth and parts of history that, while nasty or wrong, need to be read. #books

This is well worth a read, not least for the stuff on Lammy and Trump.
Things are rarely as good as you hope or as bad as you fear. Here’s what I heard in Washington last week about what Trump means for the UK and the world and there will be opportunities as well as threats thetimes.com/article/3dc32d1…

It seems odd for Badenoch to claim there was no mention of defence in the Budget. An obviously disprovable claim.

The polls were off in the same direction in every state as far as I can see, and in the overall national vote. Pollsters overall (with some exceptions) underestimated Trump across the board for a third election in a row. That looks like a systematic problem to me.
