We participated in a tree planting initiative and planted more than 200 tree seedlings along the bypass road around in Lilongwe City. The @SpatialGirls network team collected GPS Coordinates of the tree seedlings for documentation and monitoring impact. 🌱.

They were awarded during the Open Mapping Women Awards🏅 (OMWA) by @hotosm on International Women’s day 2024. What felt like personal achievements quickly turned into a shared calling to inspire, uplift, and create opportunities for other girls and women in the geospatial space.

During our first match, the team earned 3 points & mapped: 🏠 5,080 buildings 🛣️ 78 highways All contributing to our project: Mapping communities that may be affected by mineral exploration in Kasiya, Malawi (Project #35514). On to the next mapping battle ⚽🗺️
