A lot of film people I follow have said they experienced mostly older audiences at showings of this, but Sunday evening when I went, it was almost all teens & packed. Was honestly cool to see that a new Spielberg movie about Aliens can still get the attention of many
Spielberg’s DISCLOSURE DAY crossed the $100M mark worldwide yesterday, 4 days after its domestic opening.
It’s now the fastest original film to hit the century milestone this decade, outperforming SINNERS and HOPPERS.

Have an insane theory that because of how well TOH was doing on streaming after it got the axe, they pushed to capitalize on that too late & now we have what looks like discount bargain bin TOH. They could've just given Dana a full Season 3 instead y'know

Not sure what it says about me that when Clark shows "You can eat them" in Backrooms, I was the only person in a packed theater to burst into laughter (Not in a bad way! I thought it was delightful!) as he starts setting up dinner. That last act is so much fun

My interest in Toy Story 5 will entirely depend on what those who resonated w/4 have to say about this newest installment. Very hot take, but I think 4 is not only better than the first two, but closer to 3's quality than I expected at the time, so I'm not entirely opposed to 5

Nobody was more surprised than I was to come out of 4 loving it, having gone into it extremely doubtful & worried, so I earnestly hope Stanton's return to directing will yield something special, if they're willing to undo 4's finale

I'll say that while Disclosure Day did not fully work for me, what continues to stand out for me is that there's a deeply repressed darkness to Spielberg that keeps him interesting, it's what's under the sincerity. The tension is in whether he's able to grapple with that
