JUST IN: A Michigan couple reportedly became the first Americans to use Bitcoin to secure a standard U.S. mortgage without selling their coins.

The Michigan couple took out a standard conventional mortgage plus a separate loan collateralized by bitcoin, used only to fund the down payment. Their bitcoin served as collateral for the down payment loan (not the primary mortgage).
