#OnThisDay in 1961, Sir William Lyons unveiled the Jaguar E-Type to the press in Geneva.
The E-Type was so popular, Sir William issued an instruction to Norman Dewis to drive the first E-Type roadster, 77 RW, from Coventry to Geneva in a dramatic 17-hour overnight run.

Sir William Lyons on handover duty with Clark Gable for delivery of his XK120 in Hollywood and the bottom photo shows the Car fully restored at JD Classics.
The restored Car was a Pebble Beach Concours Class Winner .
