If you sign a deal and then have a career year, should it be revoked and increased to your new value?
No, teams would never go for that. Same with trade protections for players.
If a player signs a team friendly deal for the cap savings to be used to improve the team and then that team has a worse season, should the player get the extra money back they gave up? No, again that would never happen.
Should any trade protection be revoked if you request a trade?
