I know this is not about
@springsteen or the
#estreetband but anyone who knows me, knows my passion and love for the
@nyknicks
Just wanted to share one thought about the Knicks before tomorrow nights game as it goes beyond basketball.
Whether you are a basketball fan or not, whether you're a Knicks fan or not, you cannot deny the emotion and euphoria that all of NY is feeling right now. And again it's being felt by EVERYONE, not only basketball fans.
But more importantly during this magical and historical New York Knicks playoff and finals run, the Knicks haven't only brought basketball euphoria to NY, they have actually have brought an incredible sense of camaraderie and unity to the NY that quite honestly I haven't witnessed in a very very long time. And it's absolutely beautiful to see.
I'll even go as far as saying that I have seen people from different states and cities that would normally hate on the Knicks, reach out to me, knowing the Knicks fan I have been all my life, saying: "We're rooting for the Knicks!"
People who know me know I usually wear my Knicks baseball cap all the time. Never made a difference in the past really. But in the last couple of months, I could be walking down the street, in the supermarket, filling my car up with gas, and random strangers would yell out "LETS GO KNICKS!" Didnt matter about politics, religion, race, our Knicks and the joy they have brought this whole city, is all that matters and we are all in this together. Long time fans have waited a long time, and years of hard times, for what will hopefully finally bring a championship home to New York ๐๐ผ. New fans are sharing in the excitement and anticipation of this special team that carries themselves with class, teaches and inspires the young and old to never quit, and most of all brings dignity and respect to the city of New York. But most of all, as dramatic as this may sound, these Knicks have brought HOPE, not in just in their quest to finally bring a championship to the city after 53 years, but brought HOPE that even in today's crazy and divisive world, a basketball team, a special team, our Knicks, in our beloved and beautiful city, you have UNITED US. You have proven that not only down 29 points is the impossible, in fact possible, it proves that people can come together It does prove it's possible, even if it's for a short time, people can put differences aside and enjoy life for a while. For that, I, and the city of New York, thank you.
One more game to win. 48 minutes. Let's get this done. Win or lose we are proud of all of you. Let's bring it home boys. The canyon of heroes awaits you. ๐๐ผ๐๐ช๐ป๐๐ป
