I am glad to announce 📣 the publication of our Gulf ACTION registry (Early View). Congratulations 👏👌👍🎈🎉🎊 to all investigators. Years of hard work paid off at the end. Results have MAJOR IMPLICATIONS for our health care systems. Gulf ACTION is the first prospective, multi-country, multicentre cohort registry of outpatients with long-term assessment of LDL-C levels in the Arabian Gulf countries to assess the current management of dyslipidaemia with LLT. We also investigated the roles of lifestyle factors and socio-economic determinants in achieving LDL-C targets and adhering to LLT. Physicians’ perceptions of their patients' cardiovascular risk, LDL-C target levels, and use of different dyslipidaemia guidelines were also assessed in this study.

1. After 24 years i have achieved a sort of landmark- i have published my 1000th peer reviewed publication ➡️ pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/?ter… My first paper was around spinal cord injury, and for the 1000th paper It is fitting that it was: Percutaneous Coronary Intervention in the UK: Recommendations of the British Cardiovascular Intervention Society ➡️ icrjournal.com/articles/perc… I would like to that all the fellows, researchers and collaborators that have enriched my professional life over the past 24 years- without you this would not be possible. I have always tried to be as collaborative as possible. I believe in team science. Over 20 fellows (clinical and non clinical) have been awarded a PhD working with me from all over the globe. I have been incredibly fortunate to work with some brilliant people and for these people to allow me to shape their careers. This is what i learnt of my journey- a 🧵
