ALT A cover for the first chapter of TONEDEAF!, my webcomic. The top 1/4 of the page is a header made of a crumpled piece of looseleaf paper that has clearly been torn from a spiralbound notebook. The paper has scribbled on it "TONEDEAF! Track One: This Can't Be It".
(Names referred to in this section are different characters from TONEDEAF!)
Below that is a large fisheye drawing of the path leading to a large building labeled "DETRALEIGH CONVENTION CENTER". The camera is above the characters' heads and is angled down to look at them. All characters are dressed from a range of business-formal to business-casual. Nearest to the camera are Rhapsody and Maz, on the right and left respectively. Rhapsody is draping a navy sportcoat over her shoulder as she confidently looks up at the camera. Maz looks at the camera with a netural expression. To the right, midway down the path, is Quota, who has her back turned to the camera and is holding out her smartphone with a stylus. On the left, a bit fur

The outside of a line of downtown street buildings, with only the top half or so of the buildings actually visible. The sun sets in a vibrant orange in the background, which fades into a dark purple at the top of the page. A large neon sign juts out between two of the buildings that reads "ANACRUSIS - BAR LIVE MUSIC" and depicts an acoustic guitar.
RHAPSODY (WAILING): WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
The wail from Rhapsody starts in a much larger font and trails down the page, behind the neon sign, and into panel 2.
[PANEL 2]
RHAPSODY: ...AAAAAAA I can't DO this anymorrreeeeee.
Rhapsody and Mazurka sit across from each other at a dimly lit bar booth with red leather seats. Mazurka has her arms crossed and is looking down at Rhapsody, who has collapsed onto the table with tears streaming down her face and her arms spread out. In Rhapsody's righ

A shot of Caprice laying in bed, now from the perspective of the ceiling looking down at her. She stares sadly at the ceiling, with her left arm under the covers and her right arm folded so her hand rests gently on her chest. The laptop with the video call visible on-screen sits on the bed on the right side of the panel (Caprice's left), illuminating the scene. The left side of Caprice's face is lit up by the laptop, with the right half covered in darkness.
CAPRICE: I'm still angry. All these years later. And I hate that. I've come so far, and yet, she still gets in my head.
CAPRICE: She taught me that the people who love me won't do a thing for me. That they don't actually care.
CAPRICE: And I still, all these years later, struggle with unlearning that.

[PANEL 1]
Maz has now walked over to Rhapsody, carrying both plates in one arm. She smacks Rhapsody on the head with the spatula with a pleased look on her face. Rhapsody recoils from the hit, but still has a large smile on her face.
MAZ: I'm joking, you dunce.
RHAPSODY: Agh-! Hey!
[PANEL 2]
Maz hands one of the plates down to Rhapsody with a smile. Rhapsody has her hand on the top of her head and is making a sheepish expression towards Maz as she takes the plate from her.
RHAPSODY: Did you bring the spatula over here just to whap me with it?
MAZ: I dragged your drunk ass here last night and made you breakfast. I think I've earned one gentle whap.

I'm glad they're taking risks and making the music it's own thing, P3R just felt like it was afraid to fully commit to it's own ideas musically, go weird with it!!!
An entirely new story is about to unfold.
