Early last week Prof. Leigh was at home recovering from surgery for appendicitis. The heroic team at @StAnnesLibrary not only signed out a copy of Josef Škvorecký's 'An Inexplicable Story' but delivered it to him at home. He read it in a day with much delight. Thank you so much!

#OnThisDay in 1920, the first University of Oxford degrees were awarded to women. Among these were the Principals of the women's colleges, including (front and centre) our own Bertha Johnson, Principal of the then Society of Home-Students.
