This study also led to a #microplastics paper led by @Radford_Freya. In that study we found substantial microplastics deposits despite the remote and uninhabited nature of the Atoll. Seagrass canopy didn’t influence microplastic accumulation either. doi.org/10.1016/j.envpol.202…

Our @UBERIBZ boat captain suggested a new study site w/ healthy #mangroves, great #seagrass visualisation for drone, wide enough channel for the #satellite resolution... it’s perfect!👌🏼 This is why local advice, co-planning, eyes on the ground BEFORE fieldwork is best practice.
