Status TVL is now $10.95M. That may be worth celebrating. But the key question is simple: If Status succeeds, does SNT rise with it? For now, the structure is still heavily centered on WETH and GUSD, while SNT remains a small part of the TVL mix. @StatusL2 @0xcyp
✅$1M ✅$2M ✅$5M ✅$10M ⌛️$20M ⌛️$50M ⌛️$100M we'll soon be dropping the Karma tokenomics Karma counts.

So where does the value actually accrue? Will liquidity stay after incentives are gone? Will it turn into real usage and fee generation? And will that ultimately create demand for SNT? This is the stage where the market wants structure, not just numbers.

After I posted @StatusL2 yesterday a few people mentioned they had never heard of them lol. (I liked that someone mentioned @ethstatus along the line) Well where did Status Network come from? StatusL2 is not just a random build, like how would LineaBuild pick a random project alongside big guns like consensus? They didn’t just appear overnight guys. Status has been quietly building core Ethereum infrastructure for years long before “gasless L2” became the headline. Let's dive in further shall we? Status started in 2017 as a privacy first mobile app> • Secure messaging • Crypto wallet • Web3 browser The mission > make Ethereum accessible plus censorship resistant, but to do that, they realised the Ethereum stack needed more than apps. It needed a solid infrastructure. So Status got to work on building the missing pieces. • Waku > a decentralized messaging protocol, built to replace Whisper and power secure, p2p comms for Web3 apps. • Codex > a decentralized storage, A censorship resistant way to store plus retrieve data. • Nimbus > a lightweight Ethereum client, Optimized for mobile plus resource limited devices. These were not mere side projects. They became foundational parts of the Ethereum ecosystem. Waku > now used beyond Status itself Nimbus > a respected client in Ethereum consensus Codex > paving the way for decentralized infra This background explains why Status Network looks different from most L2s. They did not start with a token. They did not start with sequencer fees. They started with infrastructure plus good principles. The StatusL2 is just the next chapter. By combining what they have learnt • Privacy (Waku) • Lightweight scalability (Nimbus) • Data availability (Codex) They are building an Ethereum native rollup that is Gasless Spam resistant Sustainable So when you hear Status equals gasless L2 remember the roots. This is a project with 8 years of history, building tools that Ethereum still relies on today. The StatusL2 is the culmination of that journey not the start. Status is not just another L2 launch. It is the continuation of a vision > Private communication. > Sustainable infrastructure. > Credibly neutral coordination. You can find out more about StatusL2 from their website.

status season 2 incoming think base app but with a focus on privacy

Fun fact: @ethstatus for mobile was pretty much ahead of its time. Things you see in @base that exist(ed) in Status: • chat (based on @Waku_org ) • group chats • transactions (via chat also) • integrated wallet (multichain support) • mini apps (via built-in browser) • social (via Timeline, also @Waku_org based, though, experimental) • device syncing @ethstatus was the super app all along.

we are part of @ethstatus SNT is deeply integrated into Status L2: - holders will be able to stake SNT to secure the spam protection in the gasless L2 design - there will also be an SNT buy back and burn program using the L2 native yield

Not theory. A full-stack Web3 infrastructure—ready to deploy. Gasless by design. Codex anchors your data. Waku encrypts every message. SNT governs what matters. Status L2: where usability meets decentralization. @StatusL2 @ethstatus

If you believe this, I strongly encourage you to pay attention to what @ethstatus is building.... Always at the top development leader boards, along side teams like chainlink... @ethstatus becomes the mother of communities [community tokens]... Feel like there's going to be a lot more tokens in our future 🤱

I am not against any experiment in principle. I am against people YOLOing into markets they don’t understand. But if everyone has a memecoin, like everyone has a social media profile, then every buyer knows the game. And lockups can be introduced. Will be bumpy en route though.

Status’s principles guide everything we build — even if not compromising our values involves more engineering effort! One of those principles is inclusivity. We don’t see the point in making an amazing super app that only the wealthy can afford to use. That’s why chatting, posting in or reading a Status Community will always be completely free for end users! (of course, some Communities might require you to hold certain tokens to be a member or to read or post to certain channels, but that’s a choice for each individual self-sovereign Status Community to make) Sending and receiving messages on Status won’t cost anything and requires absolutely no crypto holdings. Some of Status’s features do require some blockchain interaction, which costs transaction fees. However, we’ve worked hard to make the application compatible with a growing list of Ethereum rollup layer-2 networks, which are much cheaper to use than the Ethereum mainnet. The community is also collectively pondering a Status L2 Rollup on the Status forum. Join the discussion at discuss.status.app/t/nip-3-l…
