Hi! I’m Brian: baseball fan and traveler. 24/30 ballparks visited, HS Journalism Teacher, 2-Time Cancer Survivor, MSU, Love Detroit & Oakland. Go Tigers!
Alright Tigers. Four June wins in a row after, if I’m remembering correctly, losing every single day in every possible miserable way in May. I see you!
Seven years ago I spent the afternoon rockin a cowbell with the right field bleacher drum crew at the Coliseum. The good ol’ days at one of my favorite places on earth, with some of the nicest people on earth. Sigh.
Nice to see Kenley Jansen get to two outs in the 9th inning of a one-run game
and then get the count to 0-2
and then throw a center cut meatball for a three-run walk-off bomb.
Well done, Tigers
The fun news is there are a ton of people at the Oakland Ballers game. Fans are coming out! The less fun news is that about a thousand of us are still waiting to get in Raimondi Park 20 minutes after the game started. We definitely got here late but man, this is a serious line!
Here’s a cool piece Henry wrote for our sports magazine, about the high school recruiting process. Fun fact: at the time of the photo, he had committed to play at the University of Texas. Getting drafted by the A’s in the second round changed his path.

“Every year the Tigers are the Agatha Christie of center fielders. And then there were none.” —Jason Benetti with another gem. There should be an option to take a graduate course in figurative language with every Tiger game lol
