With such riveting dialogue as this, I have no idea why Starfleet Academy was cancelled.

"But ultimately, we will always choose Earth. We will always choose each other.” — @Astro_Christina The Artemis II crew captured this view of a crescent Earth above the horizon on the Moon’s far side on April 6, 2026.

Today is April 8. Depending on the weather, two years ago was either one of the greatest or worst days you've ever had.

The eclipse from Orion. On April 6, external cameras attached to the Orion spacecraft's solar array wings captured the Moon backlit by the Sun during a solar eclipse.

Earthset. The Artemis II crew captured this view of an Earthset on April 6, 2026, as they flew around the Moon. The image is reminiscent of the iconic Earthrise image taken by astronaut Bill Anders 58 years earlier as the Apollo 8 crew flew around the Moon.

You won't see 2.1 inches of snow tomorrow. This is what you would see if it was still dead of winter, but this doesn't take into account the high April sun.

Battlestar Galactica (2004–2009) drops you straight into a fleet on the run after near-extinction, humans and Cylons circling each other, trust breaking down fast, and it just keeps tightening the pressure the whole way.

What television series is so good, it's worth binge watching from beginning to end?

A new milestone for humankind: The crew of Artemis II are now the farthest any human has ever travelled, reaching a maximum distance of 252,752 miles from Earth. This surpasses the previous record set by Apollo 13 in 1970 by about 4,102 miles.

One last look at Earth before we reach the Moon. This view of the Earth was captured on April 5, the fourth day of the Artemis II mission, from inside the Orion spacecraft. The four astronauts will reach their closest approach of the Moon tomorrow, April 6.

We’re halfway there. At the time of posting this, the Artemis II mission is about halfway to the Moon. When the astronauts arrive, they will conduct a lunar flyby and collect scientific observations of the Moon’s surface.

These two images were taken by @astro_reid only minutes apart. The stark difference is the result of camera settings. In the first, a longer shutter speed let in much more light from Earth, while the shorter shutter speed in the second emphasizes our planet's nighttime glow.

Majorly, yes. I would say many adults are too.
20 years ago today. Amusing that adults now treat flip phones and iPod as virtues rather than vices.
