How does STRK20 actually work?
STRK20 uses a note-based privacy pool. Shielded ERC-20s are deposited into the pool and represented as encrypted notes.
Private actions consume existing notes and create new ones. Zero-knowledge proofs verify validity, balance conservation, and double-spend protection before Starknet updates the pool state.
Proofs are generated with Stwo, while Cairo is used across the proof logic and contract code. Encrypted notes are stored directly in Starknet contract storage.
Observers see encrypted notes and required protocol metadata, not the sender, receiver, amount, or private balances used.
