In 1987, I created an alien named Zen, along with artist Dan Cote.
What always fascinated me wasn't whether aliens existed.
It was a different question:
If someone from another world arrived here tomorrow, would we fear him—or try to understand him?
Would we see a threat?
Or would we see a person?
Nearly forty years later, we're still asking those same questions.
That's one of the reasons I find the conversations surrounding Disclosure Day so interesting.
Perhaps the most important question isn't whether we're alone in the universe.
It's how we would treat someone who isn't.
If humanity made first contact tomorrow, what do you think our first reaction would be: fear, curiosity, or hope?
