Recently watched The Day of the Dolphin (1973). Haven’t heard of it? What if we train a dolphin to understand English and plant a bomb on the President’s boat? Cool, but that's only ten minutes of the movie. The rest is boring, wondering if the characters are horny for mammals.

Adventures in Babysitting (1987) is still amazing. I could stop there, but re-watching this one after so many years reminded me how many moments I loved in this film. From the God of Thunder to a mistaken identity in Playboy, this is still an exciting little trip into the city.

We also finished Daredevil: Born Again (2025) Season 2, which got brutal, tense, and a hell of a lot of fun. It was better than the first season; the story felt tighter, and even though I’m sure about where some things will go, I can’t wait to see how it's handled. #MayorKingpin

Recently I finished Carrie, Stephen King’s debut novel. I’d seen the film ages ago and wanted to check the book out to get a feel for King’s first big work and see how different the source material might be, but this one seems quite faithful (from what I remember).

Sissy Spacek does the narration for Audible's version, which is very appropriate and she does a decent job. We can see a lot of early tropes in this story that King would embrace for some time, and there are a few passages that stand out as incredibly powerful, very well written.

Only one jarring, somewhat racist comment that I noticed. Might be time to re-watch the movie and finally get to that sequel.

My interview with @mooniitani is now live! He is the founder of the infamous Japanese game studio Compile, and he had a lot to say about many of the games they worked on. Special thanks to @ImportGamingFTW for doing the translation. youtu.be/CL9P_OxGBLg?is=LmPe…

Decided to do a bit of a random one this week, mostly because of a Reddit post I saw asking how to prepare to play before actually playing, so thought I’d give a video a go! youtu.be/moFcqqRm_iE

We investigated which gaming hardware companies did their due diligence in 2025 to make sure their Xbox, PS5, Switch, PC, and accessory supply chains aren't funding armed conflict. Some...did far better than others. kotaku.com/gaming-companies-…

This week for movies, I finally got my wife to watch one of my favorites, Brick (2006). It may be my most-loved film in the genre, so stripped down, refreshing, with a cool story and actors I genuinely appreciate. It's high school noir with a ton of excellent directorial choices.

Finally saw The Menu (2022) after a bunch of recommendations, and they weren't wrong. Pretentious, perhaps, but quite enjoyable, and I loved our main character, as well as a few of the others. Not you, Nicholas Hoult, you deserved worse. A silly, yet appropriate ending.

Last up, The Fall (2006), a simple title that starts off slow, stays simple, but has multiple layers, and becomes quite the aesthetic trip of negative space and color. The end is sobering, but otherwise I was glued to the art direction and life in the ideas.
