An evangelical told me they didn’t think Catholics know what the trinity is. I posted a picture from the catechism containing The Apostles Creed and Nicene Creed. His answer was “oh look, a book” Yeah bud, those creeds are the basis of belief for all Christians.

If sola scriptura is true, why do I need Protestants to explain what the Bible means, and why do they all explain it differently?

Stayed up half the night to watch Scotland scrape by Haiti in the World Cup and still managed to make Mass this morning. Glory be to God.

Evangelicals never fail to amuse me.
You've stayed so far from God/Jesus' word to the point that your faith isn't recognizable.

When are we going to actually start publicly condemning these people? Nothing but snake oil.
Actual footage of evangelical female “apostle” exorcising an AIDS demon from a gay man via Zoom call, as evidenced by the most performative soyjaking you’ll ever see.

The World Cup begins tomorrow, and many will watch the matches. Soccer reminds us of something we must not forget: life is not a race to show off on our own, but a path we learn to walk together. Anyone who does not know how to pass the ball, even if they have talent, has not yet understood the game. Anyone who does not know how to live with and for others has not yet understood life. #ApostolicJourney

Quite surprised at how fast I’m picking up Koine Greek. By no means am I fluent or even effective but for a few days in I’m retaining the grammar and being able to identify words and phrases in the Septuagint. Baby steps.

This “Mormons aren’t Christian” thing is a uniquely American issue. The rest of the world told you Mormons weren’t Christians years ago. The fact Americans accepted they were is actually a great indication of poorly catechised Christians.

I appear to have unintentionally offended a lot of American Christians. My previous post is about American Society as a whole tolerating and accepting Mormons as Christian, not a criticism of all American Christians.

Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ. Get to Mass. Spend time with our Lord. Peace be with you.

What a surprise. For reference, he’s blocking a self described “baby in theology” for calling him out. If he can’t have a conversation with a catechumen, why does he think he’s a theologian?
Replying to @KellyPowersBPA
Stop calling them “debates”… you invite people on then talk over them the whole time. It’s not a debate, it’s you trying to control conversation because you lack knowledge. These debates have exposed that you have the mentality of a child and present yourself in such a way.

Now I know this is basically the bare minimum but since I first attended Mass out of curiosity, I haven’t missed a single Sunday nor an OCIA class. I’d be lying if I told you I saw this coming. I’m usually notoriously bad at seeing things through. God is at work.

Why is “I was raised Catholic” almost always followed by the most absurd fictional version of Catholicism that never actually existed?

Patrick of @BibleInContext1 regularly misrepresents the catechism then uses the same catechism to defend himself what a CLOWN 🤡
I've become aware of several false accusations being spread about me and this ministry. This is nothing new and unfortunately something that has become all too common among many Catholics online who cannot defend their beliefs. I’ve been falsely called a Jew. I have been accused of never being Catholic in attempt to discredit my testimony. I am accused of not being a Bible scholar in an attempt to discredit my teaching credentials. However the fact is that these hate filled Catholics wouldn’t accept any level of academic credentials, if the individual is not a Catholic. Rather than engaging with the biblical, historical, and theological arguments presented, certain critics have resorted to to attacking my character, questioning my motives, and attempting to discredit me through insinuation, speculation, and guilt-by-association arguments that prove nothing. It is easier to smear a messenger than to answer his message. It is easier to create suspicion than to refute facts. What’s even more revealing is the number of larger Catholic influencers who will do zero research into the claims before presenting them as facts in an attempt to damage a persons credibility. I do hope that these same Catholic influencers do a better job when it comes to researching their church’s history and teachings. It seems that these Catholics have not read in their Catechism paragraphs 2464, 2475-2477 where it states: CCC 2464: The eighth commandment forbids misrepresenting the truth in our relations with others. This moral prescription flows from the vocation of the holy people to bear witness to their God who is the truth and wills the truth. Offenses against the truth express by word or deed a refusal to commit oneself to moral uprightness: they are fundamental infidelities to God and, in this sense, they undermine the foundations of the covenant. CCC 2475: Christ's disciples have "put on the new man, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.” By "putting away falsehood," they are to "put away all malice and all guile and insincerity and envy and all slander.” CCC 2476: False witness and perjury. When it is made publicly, a statement contrary to the truth takes on a particular gravity. In court it becomes false witness. When it is under oath, it is perjury. Acts such as these contribute to condemnation of the innocent, exoneration of the guilty, or the increased punishment of the accused. They gravely compromise the exercise of justice and the fairness of judicial decisions. CCC 2477: Respect for the reputation of persons forbids every attitude and word likely to cause them unjust injury. He becomes guilty: of rash judgment who, even tacitly, assumes as true, without sufficient foundation, the moral fault of a neighbor; of detraction who, without objectively valid reason, discloses another's faults and failings to persons who did not know them; of calumny who, by remarks contrary to the truth, harms the reputation of others and gives occasion for false judgments concerning them. Also canon 1390 #2 & 3 of the Catholic Code of Canon law: Can. 1390—§ 2. A person who calumniously denounces some other offence to an ecclesiastical Superior, or otherwise unlawfully injures the good name of another, is to be punished according to the provision of can. 1336 §§ 2-4, to which moreover a censure may be added. §3. The calumniator must also be compelled to make appropriate amends. For those who don’t know; Calumniously is an adverb meaning to act, speak, or write in a way that is false, slanderous, and intended to damage someone's reputation (See Part 2 continued👇🏼)

He must’ve accidentally become Catholic. Now he agrees you need an authority.

Anybody can read from the first four books of the New Testament. That has nothing to do with whether or not you understand or accurately preach the message within it.
