A few weeks ago I took a close look at the autographed sneakers Kenny G has been showing off — the ones being called out as not legitimately signed by Michael Jordan. I walked through exactly what I saw and why these signatures don’t hold up. Now I’m taking it a step further. Kenny G, you have a platform, you have an audience, and you have an opportunity to do the right thing. Come clean about these sneakers. If I’m wrong, show me the proof. If I’m right, own it. I found a Jayson Tatum signed Celtics jersey on eBay that looked wrong. The listing was not from a throwaway account. It was from rockymountainsportsmemorabilia: 100% positive feedback, 183 feedback, U.S. item location, and a $799 price. The jersey had a #Fanatics @Collect hologram, A598877, and Fanatics returns a live Jayson Tatum jersey record with the inscription "The Problem." But that is the real problem: when you check the number on the authenticator's site, you get a record. You do not get the fraud item's marketplace history, its source, or proof that the autograph in front of you is the original authenticated item.

This is why you have to be careful with autos. The auction house misspelled who the COA was from. When auto was received, they wouldn't accept a return unless I could prove it was fake. They told me to send to JSA or PSA/DNA at my expense. I no longer buy from auction houses.

This is a collector warning. Fake Michael #Jordan autographs can show up anywhere, including with sellers who have strong feedback and may not even realize what they are holding. I found two listings using Upper Deck cert numbers BAM25520 and BAK40730. Both sellers also had other inventory that raised red flags, including items that appear to use fake newer PSA-style certificates. That pushed me to check the Jordan items more carefully instead of stopping at the brand name.
