Life’s too hard sometimes; we need signs: • CAUTION JERKS CROSSING • Blinking yellow lights when you’re about to do something stupid • Stop signs by people who could hurt you • Green lights when you’re doing the right thing—from my novel Rules of the Road

“Growing research indicates people act more in accord with their self-perception than with reality.” This explains so much. So very, very much. Thank you @DrDebbieSilver for pointing this out in your great book #FallDown7TimesGetUp8

These words from @MLDavisreads are important. We all need more @joan_bauer books in our lives - and our kids really do. What can you do about that this coming week, everyone? #ActionsSpeak

Seven ways to support bilingual education, classroom or digital. @michaelsalinger and I put years of experience into building a teaching model in which all students can find success, including kids whose home language differs from that used at school. readwritespeakit.com/how-rws…

Opening night of Senior Seminar for the decade’s (maybe the century’s?) bravest student teachers @WheatonCollege! They were grace-filled, positive and brilliant in their observations. I am so grateful to serve here. #WheatonDays #HappyHeart

I am hopelessly in ❤️ with this book by ⁦@KristinKsouers⁩! I try 2 keep a very conversational tone in the books I write; she does the same. Given what our students are going through—this is a must read! I am using it in my senior seminar ⁦@WheatonCollege in fall. 🎉

I saw this in a restaurant in Brooklyn before everything closed down with COVID. I’ve had my stumbles these last months, but hold tight to these simple words...

Joan Bauer’s voice is needed in the YA marketplace now more than ever! Her YA novels offer a uniqu mix of love, laughter, and hope!

Joan Bauer—I teach 8th ELA. I just want you to know that you are my FAVORITE YA author. I began with Rules of the Road, and I’m making my way through, loving each. Such voice. Such insight right into the character’s being and their plights. ❤️❤️
