Miami Beach is energized to welcome the world for @FWC26Miami! ⚽🌎 As fans from across the globe gather to celebrate, our city has implemented enhanced public safety staffing, crowd-management protocols, comprehensive traffic plans, and coordinated regional partnerships to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Derelict boats had been a major issue until just last year in Miami Beach. Over 150 boats were in poor condition, polluting Biscayne Bay and causing issues for nearby residents. These hazardous boats are now gone. Thank you Commissioner David Suarez for working to pass HB 481 - Anchoring Limitations Areas through the State and to our Police Marine Patrol for keeping our waterways safer and cleaner than ever.

Public safety is not just about reducing crime, it’s about proactively improving the infrastructure that keeps pedestrians and our families safe.  I initiated working with the County to install and improve sidewalks on the west side of Pine Tree Drive from 28th-37th Streets. Residents had raised safety concerns due to a lack of sidewalks. The installation is now complete with ADA accessibility. Whether you are walking with a stroller, heading to a friend or just enjoying a walk, our community is now safer. Thank you County Commissioner Micky Steinberg for your support!

I joined our regional partners for @GEMmissions (GEM) press event on hurricane preparedness. More than 3,000 pallets of critical supplies are stored and ready to deploy through GEM and its incredible partners to assist local and international communities impacted by natural disasters.

Flamingo Park softball field is open and ready for action! This $6.4 million project, funded by the 2018 General Obligation Bond approved by our voters, has transformed the 63,000-square-foot Andy Diamond softball field and home field for the @miamibeachSHS Lady Hi Tides.  New features include: ⚾️ Upgraded drainage, new artificial turf, and improved field conditions ⚾️ New batting cages, upgraded dugouts, and enhanced bleachers ⚾️ Taller fencing, netting, and 52 new LED light poles ⚾️ Safety-focused additions like shock pads for better performance ⚾️ Renewable, temperature-reducing softwood turf infill

As hurricane season begins, we are ensuring every household is ready and distributing free "sandless" sandbags to @MiamiBeachNews residents. If you missed our first event, there are other opportunities to pick up your supplies: 🗓️ When:  Saturday, June 6, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Sunday, June 14, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. 📍Where: Municipal parking lots at 3510 Collins Ave. and 7940 Collins Ave. 🪪 Requirements: Proof of residency to receive four bags per household.

Memorial Day weekend has never been better or felt safer in Miami Beach! From the launch of our Freedom exhibit at Galeria Ocean Drive to the Hyundai Air & Sea Show, the energy across our city was incredible. Most importantly, the word is out that @MiamiBeachNews is a law & order city. We remember and pay tribute to our American soldiers who lost their lives fighting for our freedoms. Today in @MiamiBeachNews we honored them, their families and said thank you. The battle between good and evil continues today. We would be living in a very different world - without the freedoms we often take for granted - if not for our U.S. military.
