Here is the story of the potential end of Twitch...
They are down in viewership... they have been running at a loss for many years now reportedly... they are laying off workers... and it seems like for every step forward they take, they take 2 steps back for the streamer...
So in comes kick... no one definitively knows much about them... except their biggest financer owns an online casino, which is a questionable business at best... one that got banned off Twitch recently.
Kick seemingly makes no money off streamers... they are not yet running ads, but they are soon? They make nothing off of subscriptions... so where is their money coming from? Theory is from promoting gambling on their site... but I don't know...
What I do know, is they are spending MONEY to put Twitch in the ground... they are signing streamers to contracts, spending a TON on advertising, and offering a rev split that people can't pass up...
So, I predict they are going to go in HARD on marketshare here... and it seems like they have the money to spend to do it... and it definitely has the potential to kill Twitch off.
So should you go all in on Kick? I can't make that decision for you... but I'm not going to... sure, get paid while you can... but protect yourself with having other methods of revenue for your channel.
Time will tell if I'm right.
